My husband and I watched Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland last weekend. In one part, the Mad Hatter names all kinds of hats. He rattles off dozens of them so fast you can't keep up and finally someone just stops him. But I was thinking, if there are that many types of hats, how many names of purses and handbags and totes are there.
I'm going to try and start a list here and if anyone's reading this, they might give me some help.

I know that "pocketbook" came about early because at first they were the beginning of "pockets" in your clothes.
